Advanced Magento Reporting

Managing an eCommerce, in many cases, involves extraordinary challenges. There are so many things to be aware of that sometimes it is difficult to determine which one to focus on. Magento can adjust according to the results obtained thanks to the complete reporting and data visualization functions that bring advanced reports.

As we will see below, Magento provides access to dynamic reports based on products, orders, and customer data, with a dashboard that adapts to your needs.

Default Reports

By default, Magento comes with a series of default reports that show information in a general way that can be exported and then filtered and analyzed. Among the default reports are:

Sales reports

Magento offers sales reports that include orders, invoices, shipments, and coupons.

It allows filtering by time, date, and status.



Customer Reports

Customer reports include the complete order series, with the number of orders per customer.


Marketing Reports

These reports show information about shopping carts; you can get information about products in the cart, search terms, and abandoned carts.

Requirements to activate advanced reporting

  • The domain must have a valid security certificate (SSL).
  • The base URL configuration must point to the secure URL in the Commerce configuration for store URLs. 
  • In the Commerce configuration for store URLs, you must use a secure URL in both the front and admin.
Configuring advanced reporting in Magento

To access advanced reports, you first need to enable and configure them by following the steps below:

Step 1: Enable advanced reporting.

  1. In the sidebar, go to Stores > Adjustments > Settings
  2. In the left panel, select General > Advanced Reporting

 

- Verify that the advanced reporting service is Active.

- Set the time of day you want the data to be sent.

- In the industry data section, select the Industry that best describes your business.

3.     Save the information
4.     Click on the message at the top of the page to update the invalid caches.
5.     Wait for the data to be updated according to the selected time of day.

Step 2: Access Advanced Reports

  1. In the sidebar, go to Reports > Business Intelligence > Advanced Reports.
    You can view a quick summary of orders, customers, and products in this panel.

 

2.     Set the date filters for the desired period and select the store view.

 

With the above steps, your advanced reporting is ready and configured.
