Steps to Edit Templates in Magento

  1. To edit email templates in Magento 2, follow these steps:
  2. Access the Magento 2 admin panel. In the side menu select "Marketing".
  3. In the "Communications" section, click on "Email Templates" at the top of the page.

  4. Search for the template you want to edit and click on it to open it.



  5. Use the text editor to make the changes you want. You can change the text, images, and other elements of the template.


  6. You can add a variable, to see the list of variables click on insert variable.




  7. Once you have made the changes, click on "Save Template" at the top of the page.
  8. Please note that you can also create a new template from scratch, as we will see below.

Steps to Create New Templates

Steps to create a new email template in Magento:

  1. Access the Magento 2 admin panel.
  2. In the side menu select "Marketing".
  3. In the "Communications" section, click on "Email Templates" at the top of the page.
  4. Click on Add New Template, select the base template you will use depending on the type you want to create.



  5. Enter the template name in the Template Name field.
  6. In the Template Subject field, add the plain text that will be used as the subject for the emails created with your template. This field can also contain system variables.

  7. In the Template Content field, create the content of your email. You can also use system variables in this field.
  8. In the Template Styles field, you can add CSS styles to your template. These styles can be added within a <style> tag in the <head> section of your email.



  9. Once you have completed the fields, click on Save Template.

Applying New Templates

To apply the new templates, follow these steps:

If it's a sales template:

  1. Click on Stores -> Settings -> Configuration.
  2. Select the Sales section, click on sales emails.
  3. Select the section where you want to apply your new template (for example, New Order Confirmation).
  4. In the Template field, select your new template and click on Save Configuration.



If it's a customer template:

  1. Click on Stores -> Settings -> Configuration.
  2. Select the Customer section, click on customer configuration.
  3. Select the section where you want to apply your new template (for example, New Account Creation).
  4. In the Template field, select your new template and click on Save Configuration.
